The primary function of the air compressor oil-water separator is to physically and chemically separate the liquid water and oil mixture from compressed air, resulting in the output of dry air. Specifically, it is capable of segregating moisture, oil content, and solid particles from compressed gas, thereby achieving preliminary purification of the air. This is of great significance in protecting downstream pneumatic equipment, extending equipment lifespan, and enhancing production efficiency.
Operating Principle
- Air Intake: The compressed air enters the separator through the inlet.
- Water Separation: Under the action of centrifugal force, the air passes through an initial filter, which intercepts most particulate matter. Subsequently, the air enters the built-in turbine plate or centrifugal device, where water molecules are separated and deposited at the bottom of the separator during high-speed rotation. Since water has a higher density than air and oil, it can be drained out of the separator.
- Oil-Water Separation: After centrifugal dehydration, the air enters the oil-water separator's layered filter, which contains specialized filter media (such as fiber membranes or chemical fibers). Oil droplets settle on the surface or bottom of the filter under gravity, while drier air exits the separator through the top outlet.
- Oil Recovery: The liquid water and oil mixture deposited at the bottom of the separator is conveyed to an oil collector. An internal oil-gas separation device further separates the water and oil. The oil is recovered for reuse, while the water is expelled from the system.
