Cleaning PTFE Filters

Preparation:

Remove the PTFE filter from the equipment carefully to avoid damage.

Pretreatment:

Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from the surface of the filter.

Cleaning Process:

Soak the PTFE filter in warm water or a mild alkaline cleaning solution. The soaking time depends on the degree of contamination, but it is generally recommended not to exceed 24 hours to prevent excessive soaking from affecting the filter structure.

Gently agitate the filter using mechanical stirring or manual rubbing. Avoid using hard brushes or abrasive materials to prevent damaging the filter fibers.

Rinsing and Drying:

Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water to ensure no cleaning agent residue remains.

Allow the filter to air dry naturally or dry it at a low temperature to avoid deformation or aging due to high temperatures.

For light dust accumulation, tap the filter gently or use a vacuum cleaner at a low power setting to remove dust.

Soak the nylon filter in the solution for 15-20 minutes, gently rubbing it during soaking to help dissolve dust in the water.

For areas with heavy dust accumulation, use a soft brush to gently scrub. Be careful not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the nylon fibers.

Rinsing and Drying:

Rinse the filter thoroughly with clean water to remove all detergent and dust.

Dry the filter in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight to prevent deformation due to exposure to high temperatures.

Frequency of Cleaning: Determine an appropriate cleaning schedule based on the usage environment and the degree of contamination. Regular cleaning can maintain the filtration efficiency and extend the service life of the filters.
