The steps for disassembling and cleaning filter cartridges can vary depending on the equipment and type of cartridge, but generally follow these basic guidelines:

I. Preparation

Shut Off Power or Water Supply: Before performing any disassembly, ensure that the power or water supply connected to the filter is turned off to prevent accidents.

Gather Tools: Depending on how the cartridge is secured, prepare the necessary tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and clip tools.

II. Disassembling the Cartridge

Locate the Cartridge: Consult the equipment manual or markings to find the location of the cartridge.

Loosen the Fasteners: If the cartridge is secured with screws, use an appropriate screwdriver to loosen them. If it's held by clips, follow the manual's instructions to gently press on the clip areas to release them.

Remove the Cartridge: After loosening the fasteners, carefully extract the cartridge from the filter housing, avoiding excessive force that could damage the filter's internal structure.

III. Cleaning the Cartridge

Inspect the Cartridge: Before cleaning, assess the degree of dirt and any damage to the cartridge. If it's severely damaged, consider replacing it with a new one.

Initial Rinse: Use running water to initially rinse the cartridge, removing surface dust and debris.

Deep Cleaning:

For washable cartridges, use a mild cleaning agent (such as diluted white vinegar or a dedicated cleaning solution) and a sponge or soft cloth to gently wipe the cartridge's surface, avoiding hard brushes or rough fabrics that could scratch it.

For cartridges made of special materials (e.g., ceramic, ultrafiltration membrane), follow the cleaning instructions in the manual to avoid using inappropriate cleaners or methods.

Thorough Rinse: After cleaning, rinse the cartridge thoroughly with running water to ensure all cleaning agent residues are removed, preventing any impact on future use.

IV. Drying and Reinstalling

Dry the Cartridge: Place the cleaned cartridge in a cool, well-ventilated area to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight. If the cartridge is washable, ensure it's completely dry before reinstalling.

Install the Cartridge: Once the filter housing is clear of debris and the environment is clean, align the dried cartridge and carefully insert it back into the filter, following the disassembly steps. Note the direction of installation for some cartridges to ensure it's the same as during disassembly.

Secure the Cartridge: Re-secure the cartridge using the original method, ensuring it's firmly in place without wobbling.

V. Inspection and Testing

Check for Leaks: After turning on the power or water supply, observe the filter for any leaks or air escapes, ensuring it's operating normally.

Test Water Quality: If possible, test the impact of the cleaned cartridge on water quality to ensure the filtration effect meets expectations.

VI. Regular Maintenance

Periodic Inspections: It's recommended to regularly inspect and clean the cartridge based on usage frequency, typically every 1-3 months.

Replace the Cartridge: If after multiple cleanings, the cartridge still fails to achieve satisfactory filtration, promptly replace it with a new one.

Please note that different brands and models of filters may have different requirements for disassembly and cleaning, so always refer to the manufacturer's instructions before proceeding.
