Precautions for using large flow security filters

When using a high-flow security filter, the following precautions should be taken to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life:

I. Installation Precautions
Thoroughly clean the filter housing: Before installation, thoroughly clean the housing of the security filter to remove any impurities and contaminants that may be present.
Correctly connect the piping: When connecting the inlet and outlet of the housing to the piping of the filtration system, pay attention to the connection direction to ensure that water enters from the outer side of the filter cartridge and exits from the inner side. This helps to ensure filtration effectiveness and extend the service life of the filter cartridge.
Inspect the O-ring: Before inserting the filter cartridge, inspect whether the O-ring is intact and in place. The O-ring is a critical component for ensuring the seal tightness of the filter. If damaged or deformed, it should be replaced promptly.
Wet the O-ring and filter cartridge seat insert hole: Use a suitable wetting agent (such as water) to wet the O-ring and filter cartridge seat insert hole, which will facilitate smooth insertion and sealing of the filter cartridge.
Vertically insert the filter cartridge: Hold the end of the filter cartridge close to the O-ring and insert the filter cartridge socket vertically and completely into the filter cartridge seat insert hole. After ensuring that the filter cartridge is properly inserted, remove the outer packaging of the filter cartridge, secure it with a pressure plate, and install the metal cover.

II. Operation Precautions
Slowly adjust the valves: When opening the inlet valve and downstream outlet valve, adjust them slowly to avoid sudden opening that may cause pressure shock and damage to the filter cartridge.
Monitor pressure differential: During operation, regularly record the pressure differential between the upstream and downstream of the filter. When the pressure differential exceeds the specified value (such as 0.1MPa or 0.07MPa, depending on the equipment type and manufacturer's recommendations), the filter cartridge should be replaced promptly.
Avoid reverse pressurization: During operation, prevent reverse pressurization to avoid damaging the filter cartridge and filter structure.
Regular cleaning and maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain the filter, including cleaning the filter cartridge and replacing damaged components, to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life.

III. Other Precautions
Storage of filter cartridges: If the filter is not in use temporarily, soak the filter cartridge in a suitable sterilizing solution (or inject such solution into the housing) to prevent bacterial growth. Before reuse, rinse the sterilizing solution thoroughly.
Steam sterilization: If steam sterilization is performed on the filter, it is necessary to drain the condensate in the steam piping, and the steam pressure should not exceed the specified value (such as 0.1MPa). At the same time, the pressure drop between the upstream and downstream of the filter should not exceed the allowable range (such as 0.015MPa).
Pay attention to the operating environment: The inlet temperature of the filter cannot exceed the specified value (such as 66°C) to avoid damaging the filter cartridge and filter structure. At the same time, ensure that the filter is installed in a dry, well-ventilated environment to avoid prolonged exposure to damp or high-temperature environments.
In summary, when using a high-flow security filter, it is necessary to follow certain installation, operation, and other precautions to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life. Additionally, regular maintenance and upkeep are crucial for ensuring stable filter performance.
