The method for replacing the air conditioning filter in a car varies depending on the vehicle model, but generally, it can be done following these steps:

I. Preparation

Turn Off the Air Conditioning Power: Before replacing the air conditioning filter, ensure that the air conditioning power is turned off and the plug is unplugged to prevent electrical shock accidents.

Prepare Tools: Depending on the vehicle model and installation location, you may need to prepare tools such as screwdrivers and gloves.

II. Locate the Air Conditioning Filter

The position of the air conditioning filter varies by vehicle model. It is typically located behind the glove box on the passenger side, near the passenger side in the engine compartment, or beneath the center console.

Refer to the vehicle's owner's manual or online resources to determine the exact location.

III. Remove Related Components

For the Glove Box Position:

Open the glove box cover on the passenger seat.

Locate the fixed clips on the right side of the glove box and pull them out.

Squeeze the two sides of the glove box towards the center, and it will come off.

After removing the glove box, you can see the cover of the air conditioning filter. Open the cover to access and remove the filter.

For the Engine Compartment Position:

Open the hood and locate the air conditioning filter position near the passenger side.

There may be a plastic panel or cover that needs to be removed by unscrewing or unclipping.

When removing the filter, pay attention to the clips or fasteners on the filter to avoid damaging it or related components.

IV. Replace the Air Conditioning Filter

Remove the old air conditioning filter, observing its orientation and installation method to ensure correct installation of the new filter.

Place the new air conditioning filter into the filter slot, ensuring it is oriented correctly and fits snugly in the slot.

V. Reinstall Related Components

Reinstall the components in the reverse order of removal, ensuring that all clips, screws, and other fasteners are properly installed.

When reinstalling the glove box, align the clips on both sides of the glove box with the slots and gently press it into place.

VI. Inspection and Testing

After replacement, check that the air conditioning filter is securely installed without any looseness or misalignment.

Start the air conditioning system and check that the airflow and cooling effect are normal to ensure successful replacement of the air conditioning filter.

It is important to note that when replacing the air conditioning filter, choose a filter suitable for your vehicle model and replace it according to the specified schedule. Generally, the replacement cycle for air conditioning filters is 1-2 years, but the specific time depends on vehicle usage. If the air conditioning filter emits an odor or is clogged, it should also be replaced promptly. Additionally, take safety precautions during the replacement process to avoid damaging other vehicle components or causing personal injury.
