G3/G4 grade corrugated Panel Air Furnace AC Filter with Cardboard Paper Frame is a basic filtration device widely used in ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), air handling units (AHU), and industrial purification scenarios. I. Structure and Material Properties
Filter material
By using synthetic fibers (such as polyester fibers) or glass fiber composite materials and forming a three-dimensional filtration structure through corrugated folding process, the effective filtration area is significantly increased (usually reaching 3 to 5 times that of flat filter materials).
The weighing efficiency of G3 grade filter media for particles ≥5μm is 80%-90%, while that of G4 grade is increased to over 90%. It is suitable for intercepting large particles of dust, pollen, hair and other contaminants.
Framework
The outer Frame is made of high-strength waterproof Cardboard (Cardboard Paper Frame), formed through die-cutting and bonding processes, and has the advantages of lightweight and low cost.
Some high-end models will add metal reinforcing strips along the edges of the paper frame to enhance moisture resistance and structural stability, and adapt to working conditions with humidity ≤80%.

Wind resistance characteristics: The initial pressure drop is usually 20-50Pa (G3) and 25-60Pa (G4), which increases linearly with the increase of dust holding capacity. It is recommended to replace when the final resistance value is 200-250Pa.
Dust holding capacity: Due to the higher density of the filter material, the dust holding capacity of G4 grade is approximately 30% higher than that of G3 grade, making it suitable for industrial environments with higher dust concentration.
Environmental adaptability
Temperature resistance range: -10℃ to 80℃ (short-term tolerance to 100℃), suitable for conventional air conditioning systems and pre-filtration in industrial ovens.
Moisture resistance: The structure of the paper frame remains stable when the humidity is ≤80%, but long-term high-humidity environments may lead to mold. Direct contact with condensate water should be avoided.

Commercial building
As the first-stage filter of the central air conditioning system, it intercepts large particles in the outdoor fresh air and extends the service life of the medium-efficiency filter.
It is suitable for places such as shopping malls, office buildings and hotels that are sensitive to initial investment and have high requirements for maintenance convenience.

Limitations
Efficiency limitation: It cannot filter PM2.5, bacteria and other fine particles and needs to be used in combination with medium and high-efficiency filters.
Insufficient durability: Paper frames are prone to deformation in damp or extreme temperatures, and their lifespan is typically 3 to 6 months (depending on the working conditions).
Poor fire resistance: Paper frames are flammable materials and should be kept away from open flames or high-temperature heat sources.
V. Selection and Usage Suggestions
Select the type according to the working conditions
For high dust concentration (such as in cement plants and mines), G4 grade is preferred. A regular office environment at level G3 is sufficient to meet the requirements.
In scenarios where the humidity is over 80% (such as swimming pools and textile factories), it is recommended to switch to galvanized steel frame or aluminum alloy frame filters.
Installation and maintenance
When installing, ensure that the filter screen is tightly attached to the frame to avoid bypass air leakage.
Establish a regular inspection system, monitor the final resistance value through a differential pressure gauge, and replace the filter screen in a timely manner to maintain the system air volume.
Alternative solution
For scenarios with high durability requirements, ABS plastic frame or aluminum alloy frame primary filters can be selected, but the cost will increase by 30% to 50%.
When it is necessary to filter out cooking fumes or chemical gases, activated carbon composite filter screens or dedicated chemical filters should be used instead.
