Low-Resistance Operation: Surface filtration maintains a low operating resistance for the filter cartridge because dust primarily deposits on the surface, avoiding excessive blockage of internal pores. This reduces power consumption in the dust removal system and improves overall system efficiency.
- II. Depth Filtration (Non-Dominant)
Although surface filtration is the primary mechanism for polyester nonwoven filter cartridges, depth filtration may occur in certain situations, such as when the surface filter layer becomes severely clogged or damaged. In these cases, some dust particles may penetrate the filter media surface and enter its interior. However, this depth filtration is not the primary filtration mechanism for polyester nonwoven filter cartridges and can increase resistance and operational costs.
