Technical Specifications

Flow Rate: The RFB series filters are suitable for small to medium flow rates. Specific flow capacities vary by model, ranging from 10 to several hundred gallons per minute (GPM).

Pressure Rating: The filters have a maximum allowable working pressure of 145 psi (10 bar), with element collapse pressure ratings ranging from 87 psi (6 bar) for glass fiber elements to similar ratings for other types of elements.

Temperature Range: The operating temperature range of the filter is from -22°F to 212°F (-30°C to 100°C). For applications below -22°F (-30°C), consult the manufacturer for compatibility.

Material Compatibility: The filter is compatible with all hydrocarbon-based, synthetic, water glycol, oil/water emulsion, and high water-based fluids when the appropriate seals are selected.

Installation and Application Considerations

Installation Location: The filter can be installed on the return oil pipeline at the end of the hydraulic system, ensuring that contaminants generated or intruded into the system are filtered out before returning to the tank.

Hydraulic Impulse Considerations: Due to the potential for pulsation or pressure shocks in the low-pressure pipeline depending on the operating conditions of the transmission device, sufficient consideration should be given to the material and strength of the filter components.

Filter Element Selection: The filter element material mainly includes glass fiber, paper, mesh, and wire gap types. Glass fiber elements offer high filtration accuracy, large oil passage capacity, low initial pressure loss, and large dirt holding capacity, but they cannot be cleaned and reused. Paper elements have weaker overall performance compared to glass fiber elements and cannot be cleaned and reused as well. Mesh and wire gap elements can be cleaned and reused multiple times but have poorer filtration effects and are now rarely used in hydraulic return oil pipelines.
